Date: 2019-06-24 09:09 pm (UTC)the poly people i interact with are admittedly more of the 'we once tried to map out the polycule but available graphing software proved inadequate*' variety, and they don't focus that much on naming subsets of their graph. maybe most people who have cause to use the word have better taste than the mostly-not-poly people looking from the outside that I see using 'throuple'.
*true story, though the inadequacy was about inconvenience of use, not about not being able to handle the graph
