a few weeks ago i bought a rubik's cube, mostly as a fidget toy, and tried to see if i can learn to solve it from scratch. the answer so far is no (though that was not exactly several weeks of continuous attempts or anything)
i did end up with the ability to reliably solve one side of a cube pretty quickly. it doesn't feel like an acquired skill, it feels like anyone doing obvious things upon picking up a cube should manage it, but observably i could not actually do it upon picking up a cube, it took several hours of practice.
wondering if i should keep at it or give up and look up some actual cubing resources.
