Dec. 9th, 2019 09:32 pmI have been exposed to many mnemonics in my life and some of them I have actually successfully memorised but for the most part they are of no practical use to me. Either they are for something I already remember without help (SOHCAHTOA, PEMDAS, which months have 30 days) or they're for something I don't ever really care about (taxonomic ranks). (does the fifth of novemeber rhyme count as a mnemonic? because that one's both)
The only ones I'm glad I learned are the SI prefixes ones from this xkcd comic

Oh, *that*. The one we used was "Oscar had a hold on Arthur" (with the sin/cos/tan ordering left implicit), which personally I did find very helpful.

And I still have to count on my knuckles to remember which months have 30 days, at least ten years after learning this trick.
