Nov. 30th, 2019 02:51 pmTIL: both "can't have your cake and eat it too" and "head over heels" used to be more common the other way around ("can't eat your cake and [still] have it", "heels over head") and thus used to actually make sense before people decided that, idk, they sounded better turned around.
