There was a several-month stretch during last year when the pandemic and other factors combined to limit my transportation options to my old job, which could not be done remotely, and so I ended up resorting to using a rideshare app for my commute. In late 2020 I switched jobs to a fully remote one, so I went from using said rideshare a lot to not at all (as a general rule I do not go places now, and the few exceptions are within walking distance)

Last week, I met up with some friends in person for the first time since the pandemic started (we were all at least first-dosed and it was outdoors). I used that same rideshare again after seven months or eight months of not doing so.

And ever since, I keep getting emails and notifications from this app acting like it's my fucking ex who wants me back and asking why I left it and what it needs to do earn my love again. It's incredibly creepy, who thought this was a good idea.
