it turns out that grinding xp in pokemon is compatible with listening to podcasts, which neatly solves two problems
(I can't really pay attention to audio-only media without also doing something else to engage the rest of my attention but also doesn't compete for verbal processing resources, and I'd been lacking something suitable. exercise works but i have limited energy for that)

Date: 2019-01-11 12:09 am (UTC)I haven't had time to do all that much video-game grinding lately ("lately" = the past couple years), and my podcasts have been piling up. I listen to them on walks sometimes, but that only does so much.
The past week or two I've been trying out listening to them while I work on formatting the Wordpress mirror of my Tumblr: most of the formatting tasks take up too much attention for podcasts, but it seems that deleting duplicate posts from the botched incremental backup is simple enough that I can mostly handle podcasts during it.
