i hate to say it but the november 5 tumblr memes are so disappointing a year later

exactly two interesting things happened: the US presidential election anxiety and destiel. everything else either did not pan out (sherlock series 5, putin resigning) or was completely niche shit of the kind that happens every day. ("isn't supernatural also niche shit?", you might ask. no. supernatural is woven deep into the nature of tumblr and we have to respect that. if the sherlock thing was real that would also have counted. i was never a superwholock but, y'know, we pay tribute to those who came before us. anyway)

it's like when people make "2020 was so wild" lists and they include random celebrity deaths nobody cares about. celebrities die every year, grow up. (though, tbc, 2020 actually was wild. it's just that it was a small number of huge things, not all the cruft you add to the list to pad it)
