2)...they really just open with revealing the Big Twist in literally the first scene before we even have any context on any of these characters, huh.
(that same scene happened in a flashback on episode 42 of the 2001 anime)
I mean I figure a large fraction of the intended audience is just fans of the manga/first anime who already know it, maybe they just thought there was no point in building up to it?
