I remember when people used to tell me cats were worse pets than dogs because they weren't affectionate and they just ignored you all the time. And, like, I didn't have a cat, only dogs, so at first I thought this might be true? and then over time I heard from cat owners who told me it didn't match their experiences and their cats were affectionate with them and I went "huh, that's weird, wonder what's up with that"

anyway I've been petsitting for my sister while she's on vacation, this cat has known me for three days, and we're already at the stage where she gets offended when I'm not petting her on demand. She is currently purring on my lap as I write this
