Jun. 10th, 2020 12:56 pmnetflix has like, little tags it sometimes puts in the corner of thumbnails to let you know a show added new episodes or something, right?
apparently, one of those tags is "new audio", appearing in the corner of a Japanese show. And when I clicked through, the summary thing said "Audio now available in your preferred language"
which raises two interesting possibilities, depending on whether the added audio track was the English one or the Japanese one:
1) Netflix has noticed I mostly watch English-language TV shows with English audio and decided this was a general preference for that language, rather than a general preference for watching things in their original language, and decided to insult me by telling me that a dub being available would appeal to me
2) Netflix has noticed that I watch anime with Japanese audio and decided to alert me this was now available; i.e. Netflix just (correctly) called me a fucking weeb
