if you're using the HTML editor and the first line is !markdown, you can, well, use markdown for formatting. Also, since i've seen these around and was unsure how you do them:

@sigmaleph shows as [personal profile] sigmaleph

@sigmaleph.tumblr.com shows as [tumblr.com profile] sigmaleph

(and on HTML apparently those are @sigmaleph and @sigmaleph.tumblr.com )

oh, huh, i think this would also work for linking to masto accounts

edit: the user tag one i mean (idk if there's a way to do it with the markdown syntax).

Is there a specific ActivityPub API for looking these things up? I feel like there should be, right?

I wonder if it would be possible to do a general ActivityPub way of doing it (maybe detecting for "is that an ActivityPub-using site" in the Unknown.pm file?
